Warm & Waterproof Robes for Walking

Think of a Coucon as a long, fleece-lined waterproof coat that covers far more of you than a typical rain jacket. Wear it over your everyday clothes on beach walks, countryside rambles, city strolls and those days when the weather turns halfway round your route.

Made for Cold and Wet Weather

Coucon robes have a 10K waterproof outer with taped seams, a windproof finish and a supersoft lining for warmth and comfort. The roomy fit leaves space for a jumper and extra layers in the colder months. Long sleeve styles give you more coverage for winter walks, while short sleeves suit milder days.

Throw It On and Go

Not every walk needs a full set of outdoor kit. Keep your Coucon by the front door or in the car and pull it on over whatever you’re wearing, whether it’s a quick loop round the block, a walk with the dog or a full day exploring the coast.

Room for Your Walking Essentials

Coucon robes have lined external zip pockets and an internal zip pocket, so your phone, keys and other small essentials stay with you. If yours comes back from a walk a little muddy, follow the care instructions before cleaning it to keep the waterproof outer in good condition.

Your Go-To Layer for Every Walk

Keep your Coucon by the door and you’ll always have a warm, waterproof layer ready for the next walk, whatever the weather is doing.

FAQ

Are changing robes good for walking?
Yes. A waterproof changing robe is longer and warmer than most rain jackets, and you can throw it straight on over your everyday clothes. Coucon robes have a waterproof, windproof outer and a supersoft lining, which makes them ideal for coastal walks, country walks, dog walks and everything in between.
Will a Coucon changing robe keep me warm on winter walks?
Yes. The supersoft lining adds warmth and comfort, while the windproof outer shelters you from cold wind. The roomy fit leaves space for a jumper underneath, and long sleeve styles give you extra coverage on the coldest days.
Are Coucon walking robes waterproof?
Yes. Coucon robes have a 10K-rated waterproof outer shell, which means the fabric can withstand 10,000mm of water pressure, enough for heavy rain. The seams are taped (sealed on the inside) so water can’t get through the stitching. They’re windproof too, so they’re made for unpredictable Irish and British weather.
Should I size down if I’m wearing my changing robe for walking?
If you’ll mainly wear your Coucon as a coat for walking, you may prefer to size down for a closer fit. Our robes are cut roomy so you can get changed underneath. Just make sure there’s still enough room for a jumper or extra layers on colder days. If you’re unsure, get in touch and we’ll help you choose.
How do I clean my Coucon after muddy walks?
If your changing robe gets muddy, try removing the dirt with a damp cloth rather than washing the whole garment after every walk. If a full wash is needed, follow Coucon's care instructions: wash inside out by hand or on a delicate machine cycle at a maximum of 30°C, avoid fabric softener and tumble drying, and allow it to air dry at room temperature.
What’s the difference between a changing robe and a waterproof walking coat?
A changing robe is longer, roomier and more warmly lined than a typical waterproof coat. It’s designed so you can get changed underneath after a swim, but that same length and warmth make it a brilliant coat for cold, wet walks. You get rain protection and warmth in one layer.
